Methodology
How we score
Overall scores are out of 10. The overall score blends the five criteria below, weighted by what matters most in that category.
The five criteria
Print quality
How clean and consistent the result is for the job that category is bought to do.
Durability
How well the product holds up in ordinary use, from wear on a nozzle to a printer you can keep.
Value
What you get at the published price, next to the other products in that category.
Ease of use
Setup, calibration, and how little fiddling a typical buyer needs.
Compatibility
Which printers, materials, or sizes the product actually fits.
What we compared
We compared specs and owner reports. We did not lab-test these products. Category pages say the same thing under How we compared them.
How our picks compare with outside reviews names each review, the date on that page, and the score we already publish.
Prices
Prices on this site are the published catalog prices, written as about that price, price checked Sep 2026. They are not a live quote. Prices change often, so check the live price on Amazon.
Corrections
If a score, spec, price, or pick looks wrong, write through the contact page. Name the product and include a source link. We check the correction against the guide and update the page when it holds.
